Frequently Asked Questions
How the dates are sourced, what the confidence labels mean, and how times and timezones work. Platform-specific questions live on each platform hub.
Site-wide questions
How accurate are the estimated dates?
Confirmed dates come straight from official announcements and link to their source. Estimated dates are predictions based on each sale's historical pattern — for example, the Steam Summer Sale has started on the last Thursday of June for years. Estimates are clearly labelled and usually land within a few days of the real date.
What timezone are the times shown in?
Every sale shows its official start time in the platform's own timezone (for example, Steam sales start at 10:00 AM Pacific). With JavaScript enabled, your local time is shown alongside, and the timezone switcher in the header lets you pick any city — the choice is remembered for your next visit.
How do you know the sale dates?
We track official platform announcements, storefront banners, press releases and verified retailer communications. Every confirmed sale stores a link to its source, shown on the sale's page. We never scrape rumors without labelling them as such.
How often is the site updated?
Every upcoming sale is reviewed at least weekly, and same-day when a platform officially announces dates. After a sale ends we verify the end date and lock the record as historical data.
Can I suggest a correction or a missing sale?
Yes, please — accuracy is the whole point. Email hi@whenisthenextsale.com with a link to the official source and we'll usually update within a day.
